Netcare mourns the passing of Dr Pierre Rossouw
Tableview doctor’s life and contribution to family medicine celebrated
Netcare Primary Care Division today expressed its great sorrow at the passing of Dr Pierre Rossouw, who practised at Medicross Tableview for 20 years.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr Rossouw’s mother Ansie, wife Renee, his six children, family and loved ones. He will also be sorely missed by his friends, colleagues, patients and the community he served,” says Dr Billyy van der Merwe, managing director of Netcare’s Primary Care Division, of which Medicross is a subsidiary.
“Dr Rossouw will be fondly remembered as a distinguished and caring doctor with a passion for family medicine. He has been described as ‘a leader of doctors’ and ‘a health coach’ and leaves a strong legacy of empowering his patients to take better care of their physical and mental wellness.”
Dr Rossouw passed away on 28 January 2021 at the age of 58. His larger-than-life presence endeared him to many and he loved to spend time in nature.
“As a trusted and respected general practitioner, Dr Rossouw built strong relationships with his colleagues and patients, and had a special affinity for older people. He took a keen interest in dermatology and all chronic ailments, and always put his considerable knowledge at the service of his patients,” Dr van der Merwe says.
“We are immensely grateful for Dr Rossouw’s contribution and thank his family for allowing us to share part of his life over the past 20 years.”
